Are you looking for a compact camera that can shoot 4k video and has a really long zoom lens that can take your photos and videos to the next level well look no further than this video as we check out the new Panasonic Lumix DC GS 200 so without further ado let’s get started [Music] this camera the panasonic lumix dcs 200 or the panasonic lumix DC TZ 200 as it’s known international markets is the successor to last year’s panasonic lumix dcs 100 give this video like if you’d like to see me do a comparison between those two cameras now the standout feature for this camera is the ability to shoot video in 4k with its long 15 times zoom lens it seems like for many other cameras like the canon g7x for example there’s always a trade-off if you want to get great video and photo quality then you must sacrifice having a long zoom or if you have a long zoom then you have to sacrifice having outstanding photo and video quality but with the panasonic lumix dcs 200 you get the best of both worlds now let’s go over what’s included in the box the camera comes in some really nice and compact packaging with a picture of the panasonic lumix dcs 200 on the front inside of the box we have warranty paperwork with several Quick Start Guide pamphlets a nice braided lanyard the battery which comes in at an impressive 1025 million powers of capacity the USB wall adapter the micro USB cable and finally the actual Panasonic Lumix DC Z s200 itself the camera comes in in black and silver looking at the hardware on the front we have the lens self timer indicator light hand grip control ring and the flash on the top we have the microphone pop-up flash camera mode dial zoom toggle on/off button a multi-purpose dial and finally the record video button on the back.

We have the viewfinder diopter adjustment dial the eye sensor the viewfinder or display toggle function the flash trigger button the auto focus lock button the charging lamp button the post focus button the multifunction delete button the 4k photo mode button the playback button the display toggle button and the menu select button there’s also a small rubber hand rest in a high-quality 3-inch fixed design touchscreen LCD display the cameras internal software is easy to use and intuitive even though it’s a bonus feature in my opinion I personally find touch screens on cameras to be more of a hassle than it’s worth but that’s just my opinion there are a variety of shooting modes and options though such as 1080p at 60 frames per second and 4k video at 30 frames per second I was able to take some great looking photos and videos with this camera combining the sharp 4k video with the long 15 time optical zoom has allowed me to take some great shots another great feature of this camera is its video stabilization I was able to take some stable looking videos that were smooth even when I wound really far in and that’s really great to see what’s great about 4k video is that it looks better and clearer than 1080p even on 1080p displays so basically you don’t need a 4k display to experience the benefits of 4k the camera packs in some high quality internal hardware such as a 20-point 1 megapixel one inch high sensitive MOS sensor a Venus engine image processor a Leica DC Vario Elmar 15 times zoom lens which comes in a 24 to 360 millimeters.

Nowadays people are using their smartphones to take most of their photos but this camera offers so many extra features and advantages that you can’t get with smartphones for example having the 15 time optical zoom allows you to really zoom into the action and allows you to really document your vacations and family events much better than you can with a smartphone what’s cool is that you can pair the camera with the Panasonic app so that you can wirelessly transfer the photos and video to your smartphone for easy sharing this is a great feature because if you’re on vacation and don’t have your computer with you and still want to post pictures on Facebook and Instagram from your trip then you can easily connect the camera to your smartphone so is this camera worth $800 well yes I personally think it is because you’re getting a camera with high-end and expensive hardware inside such as the lekha optics and you get a zoom lens 4k video recording in a touchscreen display with this camera you’re buying something that you’ll be able to use for a long time and I think it’s a worthy investment so you can preserve your memories at the highest quality with this camera.
